FoKAL Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

I. Google Groups

     The committee has been exploring this option for a listserv.  Discussions are posted on the group page and also sent as email messages.  We will create another group for directors.  Carrie will post the information on the wiki.

II.  Databases

     Morgan moved that we enter into a formal agreement with LDN and terminate our agreement with Lyrasis.  Carrie seconded.  A vote was conducted via the email listserv and the motion passed unanimously.

     Issues surrounding agreement/relationship with LDN:

• Pay to play - what will the money be used for?  This is a separate issue that can be addressed later.
• Have Anne join every Executive Committee meeting at 2:30? Anne can meet with the Collections Committee with an Executive Committee representative present.  This way the Executive Committee will still have an hour for business.
• We need to formally notify Lyrasis that we are ending our relationship.  Ilona will contact Nancy this week.

     Issues discussed with Anne:

• Summit dates - June 14 & 15, 2011
• Anne and Pat will be on the collections listserv
• Members can contact Anne directly regarding offers
• A $50 upfront fee would only be charged to libraries that participate in an agreement.  It is NOT a membership fee.
